Forever Wild by K.A. Tucker

The most wonderful and lovely holiday novella where Jonah and Calla have an Alaskan Christmas and wedding. This book is a warm hug and all the Christmas vibes you could ever want.

I love the found family that Calla and Jonah have found in the McGivney’s and Roy as neighbors and then in Agnes and Mabel who move into their own cabin on their property! Forever Wild is so wholesome and I loved every second of it.

Muriel coming over while the future in-laws of both sides are meeting and blurting out the possibility of them getting married within the next week while in Alaksa made me laugh out loud. The outrage and chaos that ensues from Calla and Jonah’s moms was so funny and felt realistic. Muriel is so pushy and nosey but in the best way. She’s basically the Leslie Knope of Trapper’s Crossing.

This was Muriel making Calla plant a ton of strawberries when Calla doesn’t even like strawberries!

I loved the Christmas themed romantic moments between Calla and Jonah. Her dressing as an elf for the town’s Christmas festival and Jonah being into it was just great. And Bjorn walking in on them and just not saying anything! I laughed so much at that and felt warm and fuzzy at their playfulness as a couple. I loved the Simon content; he is such a delightful human and I stand by wanting a prequel book about he and Susan’s love story. I wish there were cute moments with them in this!

Speaking of Simon, him walking Calla down the aisle was so sweet. The surprise of Bandit being the ring bearer was the cherry on top! Jonah getting too excited and wanting to walk to Calla to meet her before she made it down the aisle out of excitement was also really sweet.

Mabel getting lost in the snow with her friend felt a little like an obligated accident/death scare that the past two books had but it was fine and gave Bjorn and Roy a moment to shine!

I loved the storyline of Calla linking Roy with his daughter and helping him write his emails and setting up video calls for them. I also loved that she became friends with Delyla! So sweet. It also felt full circle that Calla wanted to give them the opportunity that Agnes gave her by calling her on Wren’s behalf. It seems like a set up for Calla to be the future Agnes for younger generations, but in her own way.

I was happy to see friendly dialogue and a burying of the hatchet between Calla and Marie in this. I still wish Calla got a dog and then she and Marie could’ve become even better friends!

The ending of this with the implied pregnancy to be announced in the next book was also perfect! It made me happy that Calla shared the news with Wren first.

“When I hear the buzz of a plane overhead, I like to thing it’s Wren Fletcher, doing what he loves most. Flying over the mountains, over the land he loved so deeply. He just doesn’t need to land anymore.”

This was one of my favorite quotes from the book.

Side note: You can get super cute The Simple Wild merch here and here! I got the Alaska Wild sweatshirt and love it. I plan on getting more of the merch eventually.
