Play Along

This is a strong 4.5 stars! This is probably the most swoony and romantic story I’ve ever read. The only thing that kept it from being a full 5 stars for me was I wish they had a little more fun together. It was a sweet story and they had great chemistry and I loved their found family and I love a sports romance! It was just more on the serious side and I like a little more banter. They were flirty! But I wish we saw Kennedy with her hair down a bit more.

It was really sweet that Isaiah was so down for Kennedy but I wish there was more show don’t tell with what it was about her that he admired other than her being pretty. He jokes that he likes that she’s ‘mean’ to him but I wish there was more showing of their deep connection between souls. Also, wasn’t sure that I fully believed that Kennedy would’ve fallen for Isaiah if he wasn’t so down for her. Even with these caveats, it was still a sweet story and they did have chemistry and I flew through reading it.

I did appreciate that she chose to stay with him in Chicago and they didn’t have to uproot their whole lives! A sweet story and now I want to read about Kai and Miller’s story in Caught Up.
