The Burnout

Sasha is burnt out from work. She hits a breaking point in a meeting with her boss, which leads to her running out of the office and across the street to a convent for refuge. After being rejected by nuns, Sasha’s mom sends her on a three-week vacation. Sasha finds herself again with surfing, kale smoothies and connecting with other nice humans. This is a plucky hug of a book, and I can’t wait to read more Sophie Kinsella.

I love how kind everyone in this story is! Of course, on the train to the beach, Sasha comes across a grumpy man who winds up staying at the same resort as her. They of course bond and it is equal parts hilarious and heartwarming. I also adored all of the oddball supporting characters.
