This was a warm hug of a book. It's Schitts Creek but make it Hallmark and add a potty mouth parrot and a country star FMC. Skylar is looking to escape the limelight and winds up in a small mountain town where she stays in an air bnb sort of thing on West's property. She bonds with his two kids, Emmy and Oliver ( who I would do anything for) and they all gradually become a family. It's funny and sweet!

I loved the small mountain town and all the side characters. I also loved that the FMC made the first move! Additionally, I appreciated that the 3rd act incident was real and a positive perspective on something that happened to celebrities all too often. I can’t stand it when a weird obstacle is thrown in the couples’ way to add tension when all its s is a miscommunication but this wasn’t that. I have read Elsie’s books in the past and loved their charm and this was no exception.
