The Songbird and the Heart of Stone

This was beautiful. I've never read a story like it nor a character like Mische. Typically in romantasy, we have a fierce FMC who takes no shit and is a grand warrior, which, don't get me wrong- I eat that up but Mische was unique. Mische is kind, compassionate, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent but isn't a Mary Sue simp and still has a full personality. She's a top tier favorite FMC for me now. She and Asar are also a top 5 favorite couple now! Asar is a grumpy marshmallow of a sweetheart, he and his dog's friendship was such a sweet addition. This is a lot different from the first book in Crowns of Nyaxia, The Serpent and the Wings of Night but it's just as good. There's action and twists but it shines brightest because of the character development and emotional arcs. I don't even like vampires but this is so good that didn't matter. Ends on a delicious cliffhanger and book 4 can't come soon enough!
